Newborn photography is a genre that focuses on capturing newborn babies. These sessions are about capturing these new moments before the infant grows into a more developed baby. Their little baby skin, fingers & toes before you know it, they'll be holding their own bottles. By capturing this early stage of development, we are preserving these little moments to look back on years from now.

When should you schedule your newborn session?

Being pregnant is such an exciting time but can sometimes seem pretty hectic. If you're considering scheduling a newborn session the earlier the better.
Planning ahead and finding a photographer who fits for you and your family's style will be beneficial to you and will check off one more task on your list!
I would suggest looking for your photographer at the beginning of your second trimester.  This gives you enough time to research and find the best fit for you and your will one! When considering your photographer remember NOT all "Newborn photographers" are professionals. Some may not have the experience and know how to properly and safely handle newborns while posing so PLEASE make sure you ask questions and check their portfolio thoroughly. This is your little miracle that you've been waiting for, and this baby deserves the best person for that job!
If you're further into your pregnancy don't worry - you will still have time to find a photographer that fits your style preferences. Most Newborn photographers book out months in advance.

Why should my family come to your studio?

My goal is to make this experience the best and safest for my clients.
My studio is warm, and relaxing. I have everything I need to give my clients the most beautiful newborn portraits. I want you to come and relax, maybe take a snooze, hungry? I have snacks and I'm centrally located so getting food can be just down the street! Getting your photos done shouldn't be a hassle or something to stress over. I have tons of baskets, wraps, props, outfits and more.
So, don't worry just bring the baby and I can take care of the rest.

How can we expect when booking?
Contact me and I will email you a brochure with package options and session information or you can check out my basic package layout on my "Investment" tab here.
We'll walk through color schemes, themes or anything you want to request for your baby.  Then pick a package that works for you!
All my packages require a $50 retainer to hold the session (the remaining session balance will be due day of session or otherwise discussed). An invoice will be sent to you for the retainer, this must be paid within a week of the invoice being sent in order to hold your session.  Once the retain has been paid for, you'll be booked for your date and time. If your little one hasn't made it earth side just yet, we can book your due date as the holding date until they have made their arrival.
What can I do before the session? Should I bring anything? And what can I do about his/her baby flakey skin?

As far as bringing anything, I have everything I can think we would need. If you have something, you would like to incorporate like a family heirloom, or something sentimental, just let me know when booking and I'll do my best to use it. A common concern that parents have while working with a newborn, is "What do you do about the baby flakey skin?". It happens with every baby; I can really do whichever ever you prefer. Leave it, tone it down, or erase it completely. I typically send out a guide to better baby's portraits. This shares some of my better ways of preventing so much flaking. Making sure the baby has a nice bath (sponge or full) and making sure you are using lotion after can really help.
It's really just on your preference, I personally like both with or without. Without lets you focus on the baby, and with shows how new your little one it.
